Invitation from the NSW Section Chair

As New South Wales Section Chair I encourage all IEEE Members to participate and engage in this flagship event, now in its second year.

The reason my team started this great event was due to the fact that many IEEE members spend much of their time within their own little groups. There is so much value and opportunity in coming together building diverse networks. In particular, we would like to see our academic and industry members come together and engage as much as possible.

Sometimes people ask me who is an industry member? An industry member is any member working out in the field outside of an education institution. This can be someone working as a consultant, programmer, researcher, product developer, engineer out in the field, manager etc. The specifics do not matter, everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate because we all have something special to contribute and we can all come away from such an event with something new.

UNITE is targeted at all members: Industry and Academic; Student, Young Professionals, Life Members and Women in Engineering; Members from all IEEE Technical Societies; and anyone that would like to join the IEEE and help advance technology for the benefit of humanity.

I strongly encourage industry, universities and research groups to exhibit. This is one of the best value opportunities that one can come across. Maybe you are looking for students to recruit? Maybe looking to showcase your product and services? Maybe to look for research partnerships? Whatever the reason I encourage you not to let this opportunity pass and take full advantage of it.

In 2019 UNITE has two components. The first is a number of technical and professional development opportunities that will be held between 4:00 and 6:30pm. The second is a networking and exhibit session between 6:30 and 8:30pm where everyone can come together with some free food and get to know each other and share ideas, talents, knowledge and opportunities. Instead of paying top dollar to attend such as event we are giving it to our IEEE members for FREE! This is our way to say thank you for being an IEEE member and contributing the way you do.

Register to attend and/or exhibit today!

I look forward to meeting you.
